Biography:
Dr. Anthony Ricciardi鈥檚 research examines the effects of various anthropogenic stressors (biological invasion, climate change, urbanization, salinization, and microplastics) on freshwater ecosystems. This work combines multiple approaches including outdoor mesocosm experiments, lab experiments, field surveys, empirical models, and meta-analysis. His major research focus is on the impacts of aquatic invasive species on the biodiversity, water quality, and ecosystem functioning of lakes, rivers, and wetlands. He is a recipient of the Frank Rigler Award, the highest honour given by the Canadian Society of Limnologists in recognition of major achievements in aquatic science.
