Liliana Ara煤jo and Andrea Creech recipients of John R. Evans Leaders Fund Award

We are excited to announce that Drs Liliana Ara煤jo and Andrea Creech have been named recipients of a John R. Evans Leaders Fund (JELF) award from the Canadian Foundation for Innovation. The JELF is a highly competitive competition designed to attract and support leading researchers working on innovative topics across Canadian universities and research institutes. The award of over $400,000 will support the creation of the first Applied Performance Sciences (APS) Studio Lab in Canada and their ongoing work in developing this new field.聽

The APS Studio Lab will focus on applied research, deepening our understanding of the demands of sustainable and transformative careers in music, and examining the implications of evidence-based solutions that respond to real-life, context-specific demands in music training and professional contexts.聽

Dr Ara煤jo is an Assistant Professor in Applied Performance Sciences, a joint appointment in Music Research and Music Performance and Dr Andrea Creech is a Professor of Music Pedagogy in the Music Research Department both at the Schulich School of Music of 91直播. Their research focuses on the intersection of music psychology, pedagogy and performance sciences and aims to contribute to artistic development and the pursuit of healthy, sustainable careers in music.聽
