Jennifer Raso wins CALT Scholarly Paper award

The Faculty of Law is pleased to announce that Professor Jennifer Raso has received the Scholarly Paper Award of the Canadian Association of Law Teachers (CALT). She was honoured for her article “Data Entry and Decision Chains: Distributed Responsibility and Bureaucratic Disempowerment in the UK’s Universal Credit Programme”, co-authored with Victoria Adelmant.

Jérémy Boulanger-Bonnelly receives the Jules-Deschênes Award

91ֱ�� Law ranked among world’s best law faculties by QS

The Faculty of Law was again ranked among the world’s top universities at which to study law by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS). The 2025 QS World University Rankings by Subject in Law and Legal Studies placed 91ֱ�� Law 41st worldwide.

Since QS introduced the ranking in 2011, the Faculty of Law has consistently placed in the top 50 institutions globally. The QS ranking is based on academic reputation, employer reputation, H-index citations, and citations per paper.

[Deadline Extended] Call for Proposals: 2025 Annual Meeting of the American Society of Comparative Law

The 91ֱ�� Faculty of Law is delighted to welcome the American Society of Comparative Law (ASCL) for its 2025 Annual Meeting, which will take place in Montreal, Canada, from Thursday, October 16 to Saturday, October 18, 2025. The meeting is hosted by the Wainwright Chair in Civil, Comparative and Transnational Law, in collaboration with the 91ֱ�� Crépeau Centre for Private and Comparative Law.

Proposals for papers to be presented at the Annual Meeting are invited from scholars in all regions and at all stages of their careers, regardless of ASCL membership.

Distinguished colleague retires, to be named professor emeritus

Exam period access to Nahum Gelber Law Library for Winter 2025

As of Monday April 7, 91ֱ�� students are able to access the Nahum Gelber Law Library 24 hours a day, seven days a week. As agreed between the Students' Society of 91ֱ�� (SSMU) and the Law Students Association (LSA), the Nahum Gelber Law Library will limit access to the three upper floors of the library to Law students only during the April 10 to 30 examination period.
