Our research group is interested in developing new chemoselective coupling processes that compl ement entrenched Pd-catalyzed methods. This presentation will discuss key observations and experimental parameters that allowed for reaction develop ment\, mechanistic aspects of the processes\, and applications in bioactiv e molecule synthesis and functionalization.\n\nBio:\n\nRylan grew up in Wi nnipeg\, MB and completed his B.Sc. in Chemistry at the University of Mani toba. During his undergraduate studies he worked in the labs of Prof. Mari o Bieringer and Prof. Deryn Fogg (Ottawa). Rylan conducted doctoral resear ch under the guidance of Prof. Mark Stradiotto at Dalhousie University in Halifax\, NS\, then was an NSERC Postdoctoral research fellow in lab of Pr of. Gregory Fu at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and later the California Institute of Technology. In 2013 he began as an Assistant Profe ssor in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Alberta.\n DTSTART:20190205T180000Z DTEND:20190205T193000Z LOCATION:Room 10\, Maass Chemistry Building\, CA\, QC\, Montreal\, H3A 0B8\ , 801 rue Sherbrooke Ouest SUMMARY:Chemical Society Seminar: Ryan Lundgren - Discovery\, Mechanism\, a nd Application of Chemoselective Cross-Coupling Reactions URL:/chemistry/channels/event/chemical-society-seminar -ryan-lundgren-discovery-mechanism-and-application-chemoselective-cross-29 2486 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
