Hence\, approaching smaller and smaller dimensions in electrochemistry is supposed to be beneficial for obtaining in-depth insi ght into electrocatalytic processes. In this lecture\, I propose a journey from nanoelectrochemistry including (i) the reproducible fabrication of c arbon nanoelectrodes\, (ii) identical location TEM analysis of individual catalyst nanoparticles immobilized at nanoelectrodes\, (iii) nanozymes as highly active electrocatalysts\, to (iv) the development of novel cataly st materials for energy conversion including the oxygen evolution reaction or the CO2 reduction reaction.\n\nBio:\n\nProf. Wolfgang Schuhmann obtai ned his diploma degree in chemistry from the University in Karlsruhe\, Ger many (1982) and his PhD from the Technical University of Munich (1986). Af ter finishing his habilitation thesis at the Technical University of Munic h in 1993\, he was appointed to be a professor for Analytical Chemistry at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum in 1996. His research interest addresses the development of reagentless amperometric biosensors\, micro-electrochemistr y\, miniaturization of biosensors\, scanning electrochemical microscopy\, combinatorial microelectrochemistry\, electrochemical robotics\, miniaturi sed sensors for local measurements at biological cells\, biofuel cells\, l ocalized corrosion\, microelectrochemical investigations of fuelcell catal yst and battery materials\, new materials for electrocatalysis and photoel ectrocatalysis as well as the in-depth understanding of electrified interf aces.\n DTSTART:20190212T180000Z DTEND:20190212T193000Z LOCATION:Room 10\, Maass Chemistry Building\, CA\, QC\, Montreal\, H3A 0B8\ , 801 rue Sherbrooke Ouest SUMMARY:Chemical Society Seminar: Wolfgang Schuhmann - From nanoelectrochem istry to electrocatalysis for energy conversion URL:/chemistry/channels/event/chemical-society-seminar -wolfgang-schuhmann-nanoelectrochemistry-electrocatalysis-energy-conversio n-292487 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
