Our analysis relies on a regression discontin uity approach based on IQ thresholds that are used to determine gifted sta tus. We find that gifted status increases the likelihood of on-time gradua tion and enrollment in college for students at the IQ threshold. This impr ovement is driven by effects for boys. An analysis of intermediate outcome s of boys suggests that increased engagement and proficiency in math cours ework are important mediators.\n DTSTART:20220325T193000Z DTEND:20220325T210000Z LOCATION:Room 429\, Leacock Building\, CA\, QC\, Montreal\, H3A 2T7\, 855 r ue Sherbrooke Ouest SUMMARY:Eric Chyn (Dartmouth)\, 'Does Gifted Education Work?'
