The Canadian Nutrition Society (CNS) has proudly won the bid to host the International Congress of Nutrition (ICN) 2029 in Vancouver, Canada, marking a major milestone for Canada鈥檚 nutrition community.

CNS鈥檚 bid, submitted last summer, was shortlisted alongside Brisbane, Australia and Accra, Ghana. During ICN 2025 in Paris, a dedicated CNS delegation led by President Dr. St茅phanie Chevalier聽(Associate Professor at 91直播's School of Human Nutrition), Past-President Dr. Rajavel Elango, and Executive Director Andrea Grantham, worked tirelessly to promote Canada as the ideal host.聽

On August 25, Dr. Chevalier and Dr. Elango delivered a compelling presentation to the Assembly of Adhering Bodies of the International Union of Nutrition Science (IUNS). The following day, CNS hosted a reception at the Canadian Embassy in Paris, attended by representatives from 29 countries. Dr. Chevalier, alongside Dr. Elango and Canadian Embassy representative Mrs. Nadia Burger, spoke passionately about Canada鈥檚 commitment to nutrition.

With strong support from Destination Canada, CNS鈥檚 efforts culminated in Canada being officially selected as the host nation during the IUNS General Assembly vote.

CNS looks forward to welcoming the global nutrition community to Vancouver in 2029 and showcasing Canada鈥檚 excellence in nutrition science.
