She is the Nur se-Scholar in Residence at the Jewish General Hospital. Professor Gottlieb earned a BN and MSc in Nursing and a PhD in develop-mental psychology fro m 91Ö±²¥. A member of 91Ö±²¥ faculty since 1974\, she was the D irector of the School of Nursing and Associate Dean of the Faculty of Medi cine from 1995 to 2000. In 2014 she founded and is a co-director of the In ternational Institute for Strengths-Based Nursing and Health Care. From 19 92-2013 she was the editor-in-chief of the Canadian Journal of Nursing Res earch.\n\nHer current work focuses on the development of Strengths-Based N ursing (SBN) as an approach to practice\, leadership/management\, and educ ation. SBN is the result of an evolution of her thinking into what is nurs ing and how should nurses fulfill their social mandate of health and heali ng. SBN develops\, extends\, and re-conceptualizes elements of the 91Ö±²¥ Model of Nursing resulting in a more integrated\, in-depth philosophical v ision and pragmatic approach to person and family nursing. Early in Profes sor Gottlieb’s career\, she helped to develop and evaluate the core variab les of Situation-Responsive Nursing that became the foundations of the McG ill Model of Nursing. She later expounded on the developmental and biologi cal principles that underlie nursing practice and brought these ideas toge ther in the Developmental/Health Framework within the 91Ö±²¥ Model of Nurs ing. \n DTSTART:20190410T154500Z DTEND:20190410T170000Z SUMMARY:Journal Club Meeting with Laurie Gottlieb_91Ö±²¥ URL:/nursing/channels/event/journal-club-meeting-lauri e-gottliebmcgill-295994 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
