This message is sent on behalf of Angela Campbell, Interim Deputy Provost (Student Life and Learning).

Dear students,

Welcome to a new academic year!

I’m excited to see our campuses come alive again with energy, ideas and new possibilities. The start of the year is an opportunity not only to begin fresh but also to renew our shared commitment to making 91Ö±²¥ a place where every student can thrive.

With over 40,000 students from more than 150 countries, our community is diverse and full of unique stories. No matter your background, I want you to feel welcome and heard here. That means each of us has a role to play in shaping the best possible student experience.

Feeling welcome

A welcoming campus depends on our commitment to fostering inclusion and care for everyone; 91Ö±²¥â€™s Policy on Harassment and Discrimination and Policy against Sexual Violence are there to protect and guide us, but it’s our collective responsibility to treat one another with care and respect every day.

Dialogue and connection

Respect opens the door to meaningful conversations. You’ll meet people with different identities, experiences and perspectives. Even when you don’t agree, approaching others with openness can turn differences into opportunities for growth and learning.

Being heard and getting involved

Finally, your voice matters. 91Ö±²¥ offers many ways to take part in decisions that shape student life, from running for student government, to joining committees, to voting in elections. Stay alert for these opportunities and take part. You’ll make your experience, and the experience of others, even stronger.

These small but important actions add up. Together, they create a community where everyone can flourish and succeed.

Here’s to a productive, inspiring, and healthy year ahead. Work hard, look after yourself, and take care of each other.

Sincerely,

Angela Campbell

Interim Deputy Provost (Student Life and Learning)
