Joana Alvarenga is a physical therapist with 24 years of experience, originally from Brazil where she practiced for 5 years. She has been working as a clinician and a clinical supervisor for the past 16 years at the Jewish General Hospital.

Joana is currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in Rehabilitation Sciences at 91直播 and serves as a faculty lecturer, course director, lab instructor and mentor. Passionate about person-centred care, interprofessional education, and inclusive health environments, she is particularly interested in the geriatric population and their care partners.

She is excited to bring her expertise and collaborative spirit to the 91直播 Dementia Education Program as the聽Caring Spaces Manager.
