Volunteering with Innocence 91直播

Are you passionate about criminal law? Would you like to contribute to your community in a meaningful and practical way? Are you a student at 91直播鈥檚 Faculty of Law? Apply to volunteer with us!聽

Our volunteers work on two fronts, namely fulfilling roles within the Casework and Outreach teams. The Casework team, supervised by experienced criminal defence attorneys, investigates claims of wrongful conviction, whilst the Outreach team is tasked with planning and promoting events aimed at raising awareness about wrongful convictions.

Hiring is done at the beginning of the fall semester, for the fall-winter semesters, and again at the end of the winter semester, to fill roles for the summer semester.聽 Please note that we only consider applications from 91直播 Law students.

By virtue of the laws of the Quebec Bar Association (Loi sur le Barreau du Qu茅bec), Innocence 91直播 cannot represent you, nor act in your name nor provide legal advice. Innocence 91直播's role is to study an applicant's file until such a time where the applicant is represented by a lawyer. It is not until this last step in the review process that Innocence 91直播 officially accepts both the application for assistance, and the obligation to work with the lawyer to continue the research and investigation required by the file. The members of Innocence 91直播 assure the confidentiality of all correspondence with the applicants but cannot guarantee the same protection as provided by attorney-client privilege.
