  2. Expense Submission:
All eligible residents must submit their conference-related expenses within 30 days of the conclusion of the conference. Late submissions may not be reimbursed.
  3. Documentation Requirements:
Ensure that all receipts and relevant documentation are included with your expense submission. Incomplete submissions may result in delays or denial of reimbursement.

  • Support for resident travel will only be provided if application for same has been requested,听and granted, by the Program Director one month prior to the meeting.
  • A filled out Microsoft Office document icon expense claim form听with the original receipts should be submitted to the Program Coordinator, Orthopaedic Residency, by email.

* AO Trauma funding is $2000 per resident, and it only covers 10 residents per academic year.

Dr. Albert A. Butler Award in Orthopaedics

Established in 2001 by Kaye Takamatsu-Butler in memory of Dr. Albert A. Butler, M.D., C.M. 1935. The award will be used to support residents doing research in the field of orthopaedics and/or postgraduate orthopaedic training at 91直播. This support can include travel funds for residents to attend conferences, the purchase of research equipment and acknowledgement gifts such as book prizes.

If funds are needed to attend past or future conferences in which a resident is presenting a research oriented project, then residents must submit their abstract (description of the research project) with the projected travel costs (a detailed breakdown of the cost) of the research project all in one document. If funds are needed for a research project, then a descriptive plan with invoices of what the money is to be used for will be considered.

Awarded by the Program Director of the 91直播 Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program in consultation with the Associate Dean of Postgraduate Medical Education.

Value: Maximum $8,000

Deadline: End of March every year
