The 颁么迟别-诲别蝉-狈别颈驳别蝉 Family Medicine Unit (FMU) is located on the first floor of the CLSC de 颁么迟别-诲别蝉-狈别颈驳别蝉. The clinic is equipped with two supervision rooms to facilitate training and patient care. Since 2016, the clinic has utilized the MYLE electronic medical record (EMR) system.

On the second floor, the administrative offices, teaching rooms, and a dedicated residents' and students' lounge provide a comfortable space for learning and collaboration. These facilities support the mission of offering top-tier family medicine training and fostering a collaborative environment for residents and medical students.

We provide family medicine training programs, including clerkships, urban family medicine residencies, and specialized rotations at Maison Bleue and the CDAR clinic, focusing on obstetric care and care for refugees and asylum seekers. The unit also serves as a clinical site for the third-year perinatal program. Facilities include a minor surgery room and an emergency room, with close access to the Jewish General Hospital for hospital rotations.

Postgraduate Teaching

• Capacity: 24 residents (12 R1s and 12 R2s)
• Curriculum: While the curriculum is mostly block-based, residents hold weekly continuity of care clinics throughout the two-year program. Learn more here.

Undergraduate Teaching

• Student Activities: Medical students follow doctors and residents in their clinics and conduct their own consultations. Experiences include pre-natal care through the SIFE (Suivi int茅gr茅 de la femme enceinte) program, home care with the SAPA (Soins aux personne 芒g茅es) program, and palliative care with specialized doctors. Students also participate in addiction treatment at the Centre de R茅adaptation en D茅pendance de Montr茅al.
• Learning Opportunities: Clerks are integrated into vaccination clinics, mental health care, Practice-Based Small Group Learning (PBSGL) sessions, as well Journal Club discussions, during which they present research articles. They also participate in academic half-days alongside residents, learning from expert-led lectures.

Residents are consistently exposed to a wide range of medical conditions across all ages, with many cases considered complex due to the vulnerable nature of the clinic鈥檚 clientele. By the time they graduate, residents are well-prepared to handle a wide variety of medical and social issues in diverse populations.
