Admission Requirements

Academic requirements

Applicants to the program must be graduates of a recognized university and hold a Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture or urban planning (or equivalent) and must have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.0/4.0 or a GPA of 3.2/4.0 in the last two years of full-time studies in the relevant undergraduate degree. The program begins in the Fall term, and no admissions are possible for other terms. This is a full-time program.

Proficiency in English

Applicants to graduate studies must demonstrate an adequate level of proficiency in English, regardless of their citizenship status or country of origin.

Applicants whose mother tongue is not English (language first learned and still used on a daily basis) and who have not completed (or is not about to complete) an undergraduate or graduate degree from a recognized foreign institution where English is the language of instruction or from a recognized Canadian institution (anglophone or francophone), must provide documented proof of competency in oral and written English by the application deadline using one of the following options:

  • TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language); Applicants must achieve an overall minimum score of 94 on the internet-based test (iBT) with a minimum score of 20 for each component; or
  • IELTS (International English Language Testing System); Applicants must achieve a minimum overall band score of 7 with a minimum score of 6.5 for each component; or
  • 91Ö±²¥ Certificate of Proficiency in English or 91Ö±²¥ Certificate of Proficiency – English for Professional Communication. The certificate must have been awarded by the application deadline.

91Ö±²¥ accepts only electronic test scores. It is the applicant's responsibility to ensure that official test scores are sent directly from the testing service to 91Ö±²¥ (Institutional code: 0935) by the application deadline. Graduate Record Examinations (GRE)

Submission of GRE (General Aptitude Test) scores is not mandatory. Applicants who have written the GRE are welcome to submit their official electronic test scores for consideration.
